Base artwork for the vintage movie poster ''The African Queen'', a 1952 adventure film directed by John Huston, based on the 1935 novel of the same name by C.S. Forester. Starring Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn, the film is set in German East Africa during World War I and follows the unlikely alliance between a grizzled boat captain and a spirited missionary as they undertake a perilous journey down a treacherous river.

In "The African Queen," Humphrey Bogart portrays Charlie Allnut, the rough-and-tumble captain of the steam-powered riverboat, the African Queen. Katharine Hepburn stars as Rose Sayer, a prim and proper missionary who enlists Allnut's help to escape from German soldiers and launch a daring mission to sink a German gunboat. As they navigate the dangerous waters of the Ulanga River, Allnut and Sayer must overcome their differences and work together to survive the hazards of the jungle and accomplish their mission.
